This Burfi traces its roots from the villages of Punjab and is a specialty sweet of Faridkot District. Made from Milk and Sugar, roasted burfi is made from khoya (dried and evaporated milk solids). Some well-known shops in the district include: –

Bhaiya Sweets, Faridkot: They are best known for their distinct recipe, which has been passed down through generations. They have been operating since 1945, continuing their business in Faridkot after migrating from Kasoor, Pakistan, in 1944.

Baba Dairy & Sweets, Kotkapura: Their special ‘Bhunni Hui’ Burfi is made with buffalo milk from their dairy. Its only two ingredients are milk and sugar. It achieves its brownish colour by the continuous scraping of Khoya, giving it a distinct taste.
