BABA FARID AGMAN PURAB FESTIVAL (FAIR OF BABA SHEIKH FARID)
The fair of Sufi saint Baba Farid ji is celebrated every year in September and runs for about a week. The festival kickstarts with Sri Akhand Path on 21st September in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner of the district and Senior Superintendent of Police. This is followed by Nagar Kirtan on 22 September, which starts from Gurudwara Tilla Sahib and ends at Gurudwara Mai Godri. An art fair and cultural festival is also organized during the week-long festivities where stalls related to traditional dresses and local cuisine of different states of the country are set up. Other events organised during the festival book exhibition, heritage walk, kavi darbar, drama, kirtan darbar, folk dances, and sports competitions like gatka, hockey, wrestling, kabaddi, football, cricket, volleyball etc.
